Nikon Coolpix S610c Digital Camera Review

by Tim Barribeau

Nikon's Coolpix S610c is a 10-megapixel camera distinguished by its Wi-Fi networking ability, and free access to thousands of Wi-Fi hot spots via the Wayport network. The S610c design is nothing special, though we like the way the sleek body with 4x zoom can easily fit in a pocket. When we got down to the nitty gritty of testing, we found the camera had very good manual noise and dynamic range results, but really struggled with white balance and auto ISO noise performance. We were also very impressed by the camera's ability to startup in less than a second. The Coolpix is short on controls, so if you really want to manually set your camera up, then perhaps this isn't the one for you. The Nikon Coolpix S610c is available for $299.99.
